ClearBuild Surveying is an independent building surveying practice based in Sunderland and covering the North East, North Yorkshire and the North West. With more than 25 years’ construction experience and a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying, I combine construction knowledge with detailed building surveys to identify defects, establish likely causes and provide realistic repair advice.

My experience spans work on site, project delivery and design. This provides a clear understanding of how buildings are constructed, how defects develop and how repairs should be approached. I look beyond the visible symptom and consider the construction, materials, alterations, maintenance and exposure.

Detailed surveying and defect diagnosis

I survey homes and residential buildings for buyers, owners and property professionals. Services include Homebuyer Survey, Comprehensive Building Survey, Roof Survey, Building Defect Survey, New-Build Snagging, Damp / Water-Ingress Investigation, Wall-Tie Investigation and Cracking / Movement Investigation.

Clear, useful advice

Reports use high-definition photographs to show relevant defects and significant findings. They explain what was found, where it is, its likely cause and significance, the appropriate repair and its priority. Repair specifications, detail drawings and realistic guideline budgets are included where appropriate to the service and agreed scope.

Personal service

Every survey is personally carried out by me. Clients can discuss the findings directly so the defects and recommended work are properly understood.
